About Technology


Technology is at the core of the knowledge-based organisation. It enables MFSA's strategic and operational objectives to be achieved efficiently and effectively.

The Technology team is made up of professionals specialised in relevant areas that include governance and planning, information systems, software development, information security, technology operations, and service management. Officials from Technology also participate and give their contribution in several European committees, expert groups, and industry fora.

The Role


The appointee will report to the Head of Technology and will be a key member within the function' Technology Operations section involved in engineering solutions to sustain mission critical systems that meet business requirements.

The selected candidate shall manage a team of technology operations specialists and service delivery professionals responsible for the organisation’s network architecture, security platforms, infrastructure systems, data centre operations, high availability, recovery services, service and support. As a people manager the candidate shall lead, inspire, coach and motivate the team members in meeting their objectives, ensure that team members grow and constantly improve their level of customer service, related skills and personal competencies.

The Deputy Head is expected to spearhead and oversee business delivery, contribute towards strategic direction, prepare capital and operational expenditure proposals, develop strong business relationships across the organisation, and collaborate with senior management.

The role entails representation in working groups and task forces both local and international level.

About You


We are looking for candidates with a solid management foundation in information and communication technologies.

The role calls for an academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level.

You will possess a minimum of six (6) years' working in a similar senior role, in pertinent technologies and service delivery, ideally at a large-scale transformation and IT change projects.

If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but you have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience in a senior level role, we would still be interested in speaking with you.

As a seasoned professional, the selected candidate is expected to have strong knowledge and experience of enterprise architecture, information systems, technology operations, information security, business continuity, people management, communication management, and supplier management. You would be expected to be very conversant with innovative technologies, project management, good governance, leadership, negotiation, management information, and applicable industry standards.
